Last news, February 2011

We achieved our South Atlantic passage to Brazil, arriving in Ilha Grande, 60 milles west of Rio de Janeiro, on monday january 31th.

Saying we were happy to arrive is an understatement... Waters we navigated the two last nights were very populated. At first Oil Rigs and all the trafic associated, then the numerous cargoships navigating along the brasilian coasts around Rio, no speaking of the very thick fog by end of nights. We had better to stay awake...

Just arriving, the reward for all these efforts has been immediate: the bay were we droped our anchor was absolutely wonderful... Green slopes falling down straight from summits into the sea. It could have been in Marquesas... And we were almost alone there.
Now, after a short rest time, we are going to brace ourselves for the Rio carnival, while wandering in the bay of Ilha Grande, checking if it's everywhere that beautiful...
